Palacete Quegles.

It was built in the early years of the 20th century, commissioned by Juan Rodríguez Quegles. It was a private home until it was bought by the City Council in the 1970s. In later years, it housed the Conservatory of Music.

Castillo de Mata.

Opened in March 2016, it is one of the newest in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It is located in one of the fortresses that protected the city from enemy attacks for centuries. The museum focuses on the history of the castle and its archaeology, but also on the history of the city and its relationship with the sea.

Plaza Santa Ana.

It is located in the historic quarter, in the Vegueta neighbourhood. Construction began around 1497. In 1974 it was declared a national historic-artistic monument. It’s considered to be the most important monument of Canarian religious architecture. You will find statues of eight large dogs that seem to be guarding the cathedral.

Teatro Pérez Galdós.

It is one of the city’s most emblematic monuments and, after the complete refurbishment completed in 2007, one of the most modern theatres in Spain. It’s considered an Asset of Cultural Interest in the Monument category. It currently hosts music, theatre and dance performances.

Casa de Colón.

It is an essential visit in Vegueta. Inside you will find logbooks, maps, diaries and navigation elements. Three façades were created with the advice of Néstor Álamo, the museum’s first director. It is one of the most visited museums in the Canary Islands.

Plaza de las Ranas (Frogs' Square).

It is located in the district of Vegueta. It is a charming place full of terraces where you can enjoy leisure and culture in a relaxed atmosphere. Its official name is Plaza Hurtado de Mendoza.

Parque San Telmo.

The park was originally the city’s first dock. You will find the modernist-style kiosk dating from 1923 and the small chapel of San Telmo. Enjoy its altarpiece and take a look at the boats that decorate it. A stroll through the park is a delight.
